COLLABORATIONS

Ember Studio’s creative practice is informed by an eclectic mix of references and objects, so this idea of collaborating with artists is inherent to the studio's ethos whether it is for an interiors project or for the design of an object. Launched in December 2024 was Ember’s first artist collaboration of many to come.

This collaboration was with friend, artist and fellow designer Gigi Allen to create a limited edition release of the Duo Side Table. This limited edition version of the piece is a collaboration that reflects Gigi and Steph’s shared appreciation for spatial design, pattern, and texture, as well as their evolving respective explorations into furniture design and visual art.

For the special edition of the Duo Side Table, Gigi focused on the connection point where the tabletop meets the leg — a moment that provides a theme of overlap. Guided by this concept, she developed a dynamic pattern by extending and coinciding edges, generating movement that pushes the two-dimensional surface and invites a closer look.

With a palette that harmonizes with its environment while creating interest, this special edition of the Duo Side Table is a statement piece showing how function meets art, and demonstrates the beauty in friendship and creative collaboration. It is available and on view at Colony in NYC.
